History of Political Thought
I have extensive experience instructing and assisting courses in the history of political thought. During my doctoral studies I co-taught two iterations of a third year undergraduate course covering slightly different time periods in modern political thought.
The first course POL320 begins with Rousseau, and covers works from Kant, Hume and Hegel among others.
The second course POL321 begins with J. S. Mill and covers the works of Marx, Hegel and Nietzsche.
Capitalism in Normative Perspective
I have also developed syllabi which reflect my primary research interest in the politic theory of capitalism. Here I deploy a mix of historical and normative approaches to the study of capitalism.
Central thinkers include: Adam Smith, Karl Marx, J. M. Keynes, Karl Polanyi, F. A. Hayek, Joseph Schumpeter and Milton Friedman.
Other teaching experience
I have extensive experience assisting and guest lecturing in a range of topics beyond political theory including generalist introductory courses in political science, international law, international political economy and contemporary political philosophy.
